Description of work

This is a rugby trophy to be presented weekly to young players in a club in Lancashire. It is an example of how I can work with a customer on a design idea to produce something that meets with their approval, based on their initial thoughts, but is also makeable as a piece of woodturning. Liz, who commissioned the trophy, initially sent me an idea much closer to woodcarving than turning, but we worked out this design between us via a few emails back and forwards we came up with this modified version, with which he was delighted.

The ball is 4 inches in diameter and 6 inches long, turned in sycamore. It rests on an ash plinth with a a kicking tee on top of it. The plinth is pyrographed with five inspirational words: Discipline, Enjoyment, Respect, Sportsmanship and Teamwork.

The price within the range suggested will depend on the amount of pyrography required, and any variation in size or detail. As seen in the photo this would be £55.
