Description of work

Oliver Hudson was a young student at Malton School who died from cancer aged only 14. As well as an annual history trophy in Oliver's name, money was raised by a sponsored walk to provide a shelter. When the shelter was erected, it was felt a commemorative plaque should be fitted to the wall.

This plaque was turned from light oak, and pyrography used to add a picture of Oliver and the dedications. Screw coverings were turned to hide the wall fixing screws. The whole was finished with a few coats of oil, to weatherproof the plaque.

A tree was planted as well - Ollie's oak - and a plaque was placed by its side. See below.
